I currently have taylor on pedigree he was on burns and lost alot of weight and has since been on pedigree dry and butchers tins. We ae oing to move him onto either simpsons or skinners or maybe pero.

Howeve i was at the park yesterday with a few friends and there labs, 1 feds her 2 arden grange and they are lovely looking boys, 1 feeds her girl on pero labrador life again she looks great but may friends 10 monh old boy looked simply stunning and he is fed on WAGG ...i never thought i was a good food but i am surprised at asking around how many people feed their dogs on this.

So does anyone on here feed it and what are their dogs like. As it may be a possibility for us. Money isnt really an issue but I was just shocked at how good her dog looked.

I wouldn't choose to feed Wagg. I've looked at the ingredients list before and for all the dog food varieties I've looked at, Wagg lists wheat or maize as the first/main ingredient.

I think Arden Grange is a good quality dried food and of the dry foods I've used, I'd say the AG salmon was one of the best for mine. Orijen is a no-grain dry food but more expensive. Lots of people here seem to like Skinners. I feed mine Naturediet, which is a good quality moist food, at the moment (looking to move to raw).

It wouldn't be my first choice, as Angela says the first ingredient listed is wheat. I'd much rather this was meat :D

My dogs are doing fabulously on Simpsons... and we have tried many, many foods, but I've no experience of the others you are considering. Good luck with your decision!

Thanks wagg had never really been one on my list it was purely after seeing how good her dog looked on it that it made me wonder i think atm simpsons or skinners are my top 2 choice just waiting for the samples to come through from them and we will see (even though taylor is a dustbin and will eat anything going lol )

I used to feed my lurchers on WAGG (after trying them on more expensive/better foods and getting upset stomachs from them) and they did fabulously on it. I couldn't feed it to my lab boy now with his stomach issues, but it's bound to suit some dogs :D

I am sure there are dogs out there that look good and seem to do well on all sorts of food and everyone gets to choose what they want to feed their own dogs, I just wouldn't choose to feed Wagg, or others such as Bakers and Pedigree, to mine, having seen the ingredients.

My first foster girl was fed on Wagg; it wouldn't be my food of choice but I have to say she looked fabulous on it.

I hav no problem with taylor on pedigree...he has a cast iron stomach however he lost alot of weight on burns and arden grange made him very runny poos even after a month of feeding it he still had runny poo. On pedigree and tinned he has good solid poos and maintained his weight, he has had wilkos own brand, pah and occasionally wagg all have been ok. We wil be trialing skinners and simpsonms bu may consider wagg aswell as an option x

never a truer word said Angela! I have cracked my brain over the years trying to work out why some dogs (even litter siblings with the same genetic make up and reared in exactly the same way) can be so masively different even from, virtually, day one!

How some can be fed utter rubbish and bounce! How some can be on the most carefully monitored sensitive stomach diet at great cost and fail miserably still.

I'm sure one day I'll crack it then sell the secret for throusands! ;-)

Its so true, but Stacey, if your dog is thriving on what it is eating now and its affordable for you - seriously - don't change just because someone elses dog looks good on it. It could throw your dog for six badly, then you would regret it.

Sorry no experience of Wagg, am finding Skinners 'OK' for tough stomached dogs but not for ones with any sort of weakness.

Bella has always been fed on Wagg, since weaning, her breeder fed her Wagg Puppy... I just continued with it, and progressed her to the normal Wagg.

I use Bakers tinned tripe loaf and Wagg every day. She gets sardines in tomato sauce weekly, and the occaisonal egg.

She has a beautiful shiney coat, is healthy and content.

I shall continue to use Wagg!

My 3 & the Terrier are all on Wagg and do realy well on it the nine year old i change to Skinners in the shooting season but the other 2 manage to work ok i add Pilchards once a week , as every one says some dogs do well on one food that others would not cope with , the Wagg costs me ÂŁ6 for 17Kg in the cash & carry but if it was wrong for my dogs i would use something else .

My sister has 5 labs all fed on Wagg they have no problems what so ever they never seem to ail with anything!! Mine is on Skinners because he was on it from the breeder and does very well on it, my previous lab was on pero labrador life no complaints about that either I once read an article which said you find a food that suits YOUR dog and stick to it.
