WEll I think this one takes the biscuit

I was out several years ago with Neo as a pup who went running up to a small girl aged about 6 - so I went haring after him calling him - her dad said it was fine she was used to dogs - then....

She said (and I am not joking)

"Have you seen our Ponce?" "We've lost our Ponce"

By way of explanation Dad said that was the dog - and he's gone missing!!!

I know one or two dogs called Dave and I know one called George - problem is when he is called half the neighbourhood kids come running as it seems to be a very popular boys name right now....

A terrier in our obedience class is called Juno after the film, and we also had a dog with long black curly hair (not a poodle) in our puppy parties that was called Colin, my hubby and i were in stitches though as his 'Dad' also had long black curly hair.

There is a new member with a 'chicken', I must confess to a secret hankering to call new pup Sausage.

My friends dog is called 'Askit' as in , what's youd dog called? .....'ask it'

Basil had a pal called Dave in singapore and one called Handsome.

One rather mean boy (and bad parents) called his dog Dipstick :( I remember explaining to the people in the petshop that it was an insult.....he was rehomed at 6months too :(

It is worth just giving it a little extra thought if you are going to attend training classes. I was at a class the other week with a chap whose dog was called Roger.

Well Roger kept legging it the whole time and the chap kept calling him back and the whole class was in fits of laughter, which is ok if you can join in and laugh as well, but this poor chap was just getting more and more embarrassed. I have a strong feeling it was his wife's idea to use that name and he was just stuck with using it at class 8O .

Although, one of the dallies in 102 Dalmations was called dipstick, as the tip of its tail looked as though it had been dipped in oil... hence dipstick.

I quite like the idea of Eric and ERnie - though you may collect more than your dogs when you call!!!!!

But then my mum was a great fan of Morecombe and Wise!
