No sadly, only the local forest where there is a huge lake and then there is the park with a river running through it, great fun for dogs, but they get filthy!!!!

 

Sounds like Lucy had great fun. i'd love to take Alfie to something like that when he's a little older. how did you find out about it?

I doubt there would be anything like that near here, if there is i haven't heard about it

 

I bet they had a fabulous time.

I seem to recall that we do from something similar locally (part of a dog training establishment primarily for guard / security dogs) which I found o the web. It also facilitates owners and pets swimming together - will have to check up on that.

We just have the river Tay for the dogs to swim in, but what ealse could a dog ask for. :roll: it is only 5 minutes walk from the house.

 

Nothing like that round here either as far as I know Linzi, good to hear Lucy`s ears seem to be ok after her swim, another great way to socialise too, friends for Lucy and for you :lol:

 

We have a pool at home for dogs and humans!

The biggest problem is keeping her out of it!

 

I heard about the place in the local newspaper and leaflets given out at an RSPCA fun dog show, it sounded different so we tried it out (me and friends from the park with other labs), this is the second time Lucy has been.
We all had a great time the owners and the dogs.
There is also the option of getting in the pool with the dogs which i have done both times as its more fun than watching!
The good thing is its only over the road and it takes 2 minutes to get there.
Its also good to go in groups because its £60 for an hour or if on your own £30 for half an hour.
You can shampoo and dry your dog there too.
I bet Coco loves having a pool at home. Lucky her!
Probably nothing beats going to your local park or woods where they can swim and letting them get filthy as they love getting dirty but its something new to do.

Hi Lou Lou - we have a Hydrotherapy pool for dogs about 10 mins away from us...............which is also where I work - as a Canine Hydrotherapist - our Charlie LOVES swimming!! As you can see by this link, and also the photo.

Its such good exercise for them, we have over 400 dogs that come swimming to our pool. I have attached the link for the pool for you all to look at....

We have rivers all over the place which Ozzy is never out of. And we pop over the Mountain to Aberdare at the weekend as there is a big clean lake which he just loves.

 

Dipping dogs is in Cowley in Packet boat lane, which is probably the one you are thinking off. Do you live near West Drayton Megaloo?
