Good evening,I am looking for some help, I have an 18 month old lab that whines she is starting to get worse and I'm unsure how to deal with it,she's very excitable and is always on the edge when training. The two things I'm desperate to get right are her heel work and the whining, any advice will be gratefully received.

You need three things:

Patience
Patience and
Patience

After you use that you'll be laughing
For me, unless the dog is injured or unwell, whining is a cry for attention
Unless something causing it distress then ignoring the whines will eventually result in giving up. It may take 10 minutes, 10 hours or 10 days but consistency and patience pays off

On the heel walking much the same applies but I must confess we bummed out on this so use a halti when heel walking or control is paramount

Don't give up!
