We are in south-east London (Greenwich) very close to the royal park, so that is our usual hangout - it's got lovely rolling terrain, a lake and a deer park but most importantly lots of poop bins and a really friendly community of dog-walkers.

Another regular walk about 10 mins drive from us is Oxleas woods, ancient woodlands just off Shooter's Hill, named for all the highwaymen who used to lie in wait there.

We occasionally do bits of the 'Green Chain' which runs from Greenwich for about 40 miles through various parks, heaths and woodland.

A bit further afield we like to go to Shoreham, which has a gorgeous set of linked woods surprisingly right next to the M25 though you'd never know it once in them.
