ok folks im not sure someone has covered this but any tips for people in wheelchairs for dogs walking on leash. any special leads etc i should get? oh and p.s here is a picture of benji from this morning

Ive no idea on wheelchair training but sure as hell that the lovely fella you got in your picture could be a fantastic assistance dog - even part time.

Would imagine the key thing walking would be to ensure the dog stays free from the wheels?

Saw two assistance dogs at work in our local shopping centre this weekend. Amazing stuff.

I reckon 90% of dogs have more intelligence than 99% of the human race!

Hello

Minnie and I are being trained by Dog A.I.D.

It is hard but huge fun, and you go really at your own pace. Doing the Kennel Club good citizen awards is a good step in the right direction.

Min has passed her level one, and is waiting to take level two.

The hard thing is it is a tiny charity, and the only one that trains your own dogs, so the trainers are very thin on the ground.

I know they run workshops for people without trainers to learn some basic skills.
