Just getting our heads round Amber's epilepsy - on week 3 of medication, and she has developed a limp on her back right leg. She pulled up sharply & yelped about a month ago, and limped/held it stiff for a couple of days, then it settled so we thought she had 'pulled something'; then a couple of weeks later we noticed she was 'guarding it' for a couple of days, then it settled again. The last couple of days of our holiday last week, after 4 days of sea swimming, romping around and a couple of 4 mile walks, she started again, but this time seems to be laying down a lot and holding it stiff. The vet has put her on painkillers for a week, short walks only, and if no improvement, she is to have x rays under anaesthetic. He said her legs look 'strange', whatever that means, he asked about her pedigree, and asked if we were insured. Big alarm bells !!! Not expecting any answers, just need to offload the fact that it seems everything that labs can get, we're going to get it !

Oh gosh poor Amber - you must feel lke it is all being thrown at you at the moment!

Hope the limp turns out to be nothing serious....

Re the epilepsy - there are a number of people on here who have/have had dogs with epilepsy who can give you huge amounts of support - and JOhn W is very knowledgable so he would also be able to advise and support if you felt you needed it...

Thinking of you
