Hi all

We went to our final class tonight for puppy training. Hard to believe it has been 7 weeks since we started!

I think the main advantage for us has been the interaction between Smudge and both dogs and people. He has learned the usual sit, stand, down, stay commands as well as some other useful ones which we are still working on such as leave and settle.

We will have to keep up with all that we have been taught and ensure that we continue with his training as much as possible at home. We are hoping to take him back to training in the future, though will probably give him a little break for now.

It was funny tonight because Smudge was the only dog to turn up for class! We had one-to-one training which Smudge loved - he's sleeping soundly now after all the excitement!

Oh, and he got a lovely little certificate! I was so proud of him as he jumped up and tried to accept it!

Keep an eye on this website http://www.top-dogs.co.uk/photo.htm as they were taking piccies of Smudge tonight and they may put them up there at some point!

All the best,
Nicola.

Hi Nicola,

Well done both of you :D

I'm keeping an eye on the web-site for you!

Make sure you display your certificate - we've got a few weeks left on our course - but I dont think we get a certificate :(

You were very lucky to get one-to-one! There is always about 14 of us!

Best wishes

Fay

Congratulations - clever Smudge! I bet he does everything you tell him now eh :D

Brady has been to two training sessions now and is a proper little show off at them! He loves all the socialising, but is always ready to show the others how he can sit, lie down etc. I am delighted with the results so far, and would recommend training classes to others. Brady seems to have more respect for our authority now and he can go off the lead when we're out without fear of him running off.

I would also say definitely get your certificate framed - I recently did a Train-the-Trainer course myself and the certificate got chewed the day after it arrive in the post (the little monkey!! :animalmonkey: )

Well done you guys, hope we get on as well as you over the next few weeks
