While walking on a lead Harvey will decide to sit down and have a good look around until HE decides to move on!

Its not that he is tired as it can happen at any time, including the beginning of the walk

He seems oblivious to being called, I'm reluctant to lure him with treats as I believe thats a bad habit to start and I wont resort to lead jerking

Currently I just wait patiently until he does move in the right direction then click and treat him ... but it does get FRUSTRATING!

Any suggestions? ... is this a normal puppy thing which he will grow out of (hes 14 weeks)?

Im beginning to envy those with "pullers"!

The Sudden Stop!

Hi Nigel

Our beautiful 18 week old, Smudge, does this! He just stops and all I can do to move him is to call him and to click my fingers a bit and he moves!

Not sure why he does this. At first I thought perhaps he was getting tired and saying "I can't go any further" or something but he does it sometimes right at the beginning of walks!

I'm hoping it's just a puppy thing. Would be interested to hear others thoughts on this one.

All the best,
Nicola.
