We are taking Molly to the sea in a weeks time, and sure she will spend time swimming / paddling. May I ask for advice as to whether she will need washing after being in seawater, and if so, do we use water or a shampoo.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thank you

Swimming

Hi Mark

Im sure Molly will enjoy the sea, we normally just towel dry Jess once shes been in the water or if shes really dirty shower her down with warm water when we get home.

We got a tea tree shampoo from the pet shop that we wash Jess with every 3 or 4 weeks it needs diluted in a little water before you use it but it keeps the fleas away and it makes her coat look amazing as well as smelling pretty good.

Hope this helps

Hi Mark,

Our Bradley loves to swim in the sea too - we usually shower him with warm water afterwards before wrapping him up in a huge towel! Make sure Molly is rinsed of well though, as the salt water can affect their skin and make them itch. A good brush session afterwards always goes down well too. :)

Also, there have been times in the past when Bradley has swallowed alot of the sea water during his swims,(just by swimming) and he sometimes has diarrhea for a day or so afterwards..just something to be wary of.

Other than that, it's the best from of exercise, and i'm sure she will have a great time! Don't forget to take your camera, have fun.

Regards

Julie
