Roxy is a 12 year old Labrador x Collie who is in an Oldies Club foster home in Morecambe, Lancashire. Roxy came into our care when her owner moved into sheltered accommodation. The family were very sad to have to say goodbye to Roxy :(

Roxy is a wonderful girl with a very calm and pleasant nature. She loves people and enjoys any attention coming her way. Her previous owner told us that she is good with children of all ages, but she has not been in the company of children whilst in foster care. We were also told that she would be happy to live with other dogs and she could possibly live with a confident cat that would stand up to her.

Roxy’s foster carer tells us about walks with Roxy:

"She walks well on her lead, without pulling, and off lead her recall is good. She enjoys walking off her lead along the canal towpath, totally ignoring the ducks and swans, and doesn’t bother to try to go into the water. She likes to say hello to other dogs, but I usually take hold of her as other dogs are not always so friendly."

Her foster carer also told us:

"Roxy’s tail rarely stops wagging! She is such a happy girl. She will play for a short while with a ball, but she prefers to have her tummy rubbed! She will ‘talk’ to you while you rub her tummy, to voice her enjoyment.

Roxy is a very clean girl and she rarely barks. She can be left happily for a few hours and will greet you nicely on your return. She doesn’t object to a bath, although she’s not keen on being brushed. Roxy is a good traveller and likes to see where she is going.

She makes an ideal companion and is calm, gentle, affectionate and very placid. She is without doubt a sweet natured lady."

Roxy sounds simply perfect, doesn’t she?!

She does sound perfect! I hope she finds her new home soon, her old owners must be heartbroken to have to say goodbye to such a lovely lady.
