My two pups Ben and Max (13 weeks) seem to like eating the large hips on my Rosa Rugosa roses.
I was seeing the seeds in their poo and wondering what they were from and now I know.
I don't know if they taste nice, but I do know you can use them for making rose hip syrup. I remember as a kid in the 60s getting rose hip syrup on our rice pudding and semolina pudding for school dinners as a source of vitamin C.
Has anyone else come across this unusual eating habits in their dogs and I assume it can't do them any harm?

Not something my dogs have ever done, but yes, in the 1940's we used to take bags of them to school to be sent off to make into Rose Hip Syrup.
