Returned last night after a fab week in Cornwall. The weather was rubbish but we just excluded it from everything by wearing loads of waterproofs and walking boots. Piran Sands is near Haven's campsite and we booked a caravan for the week. They charged us extra (£40) for the dog but it was well worth it. The place is extremely dog-friendly. Almost each caravan had a dog but the beach was almost always empty as you had to climb down steep sand-dunes to reach it which made it difficult for small children and the elderly to go there. We went to the main Pirranporth beach as well but came right back as it was crowded, very very crowded. Apart from a bunch of nudists on one sunny weekday, there was no one to be found on Piran Sands most of the time. Max loved it. Haven staff were friendly as usual and caravan clean and new. Can't fault them with anything apart from selling expensive food at the site.

Max learns to swim, of all places, in Atlantic Ocean!
