I went on a Field Trial Training Day last weekend and although I took a camera with me the day was just too busy for me to be able to take any photographs.

I brought a couple of partridges home with me and here's a photo or two of my training at home with them.

No Sam Pepper hasn't had them before. Round here any partridges that are shot go straight in the pot so I can never get my hands on any for training.

He was fine. Had a bit of a sniff at the first one, but I tooted him up and he was fine after that. He has had rabbit, pigeon and woodcock before though, oh and hedgehog of course  .

Very nice pics Jill, :D I must say a partridge makes a nicely sized mouthful for a cold game retrieve, although I do rather like them to eat!! I could find myself running-in!! 8O

Yes Evelyn - its sometimes hard to find safe fences to practice over around here so I decided to put my own fence in the corner of the field. :D
