Yesterday I had to make unenviable decision to have one of Lottie's 4 week old puppies put to sleep. He was such a little character and the pain I feel at his loss is unbelievable. Run free little man xxx

Yes, they're all fine, thank goodness. They're an absolute delight and in a few more days I'll be able to really appreciate them again.

He had investigations yesterday that showed he had a vascular ring anomoly. The condition causes compression of the esophagus which prevents solid food from passing through. An operation was far too risky on such a small puppy and I had to make the decision not to wake him from the anaesthetic. Despite his condition he was an active little boy, the only one to jump in and out of the whelping box regularly. It was a heartbreaking decision to make, the hardest I've ever had to make since starting breeding and one I hope I never, ever have to make again :cry:
