Hi everyone,
I took my black Labrador in to get a keyhole spay this morning, she’s 5. I’ve had a call from the vets and they’ve said there was more bleeding than they’d like from her pedicle and would like to keep her in a little longer to monitor her.
I’ve tried looking this up but there’s not much information on this apart from veterinary guides. Has anyone else experienced this? I can’t help but worry that they’ve done something wrong.
Any information would be really appreciated.
Thank you!

Try not to worry, (though I know you will.) Things do occasionally cause problems. Never had problems with a spay, but have a castration. Normally they tie off major arteries and cauterise minor ones to seal them off, but occasionally a tie will come off before the artery has sealed. My Dalmatian dog started bleeding seriously at about 10pm and I had to get my vet in to open him up again. I would guess something similar has happened here.
