Henry has been here 3 months now, it does seem longer.

He's coming on well, growing well, nearly as tall as Hollie.
A true Labrador he eats anything - his favourite at the moment is banana and he likes to pinch the odd strawberry from the patch.
He's now on 120grms of food 3 times a day plus treats, I am watching his ribs and his poos, all are fine.

His training is coming on really well.
Recall is good, he's off lead most of the time. He still charges up to folk and other dogs but comes away now when told. Sit and wait is good.
Generally I am happy with his behaviour. There's still a lot of puppy in him yet. :D

He is left with Hollie a few times a week for an hour or so and so far there has not been any damage. I usually find that he has emptied his toy box by the time I get back.

Hollie is quite happy with him as long as he doesn't get rough, a quick doggy 'no' and he behaves. She is like an elderly aunt with him, loves running in the fields with him and at night doesn't mind him using her bum as a pillow.

In the fields this morning

So lovely, particularly when the older dog teaches the young one manners. We can learn so much watching how a adult disciplines a puppy. :)

He is doing great :) it’s been lovely looking at the updates!

Betty is now 15 weeks, and I’m reassured to read that Henry charges up to others and their dogs! Betty does the same, we just haven’t mastered the ‘come away’ part yet! More a case of when she is ready and finished playing! So any tips would be great!

It's still work in progress.

The 'come away' part is just perseverance and consistency. Using the same command over and over. Letting him know when he's got it right AND when he's got it wrong. Sometimes I have to use a stern voice.

I always have his lead ready. At first it was a case of getting his lead on as quick as possible and use the command "this way" and walk on. Now the "this way" works without lead.

Stopping him running up to people and dogs in the first place is the hard part and isn't working properly yet. It's part of his recall training, as soon as I see someone I call him back but it doesn't work every time.
Everyone is "my best buddy evva". He just wants to be friendly but some folk don't like it.

Although it can be a bit annoying, I see the friendliness as a good thing, it's better than the pup being afraid or being nasty.

Henry and Betty are both puppies and it's in their nature to be friendly to all. It just time and work on our part to make them more social without annoying other folk and their dogs.

Henry is teething.

A canine tooth was found this afternoon.
I've checked his mouth and there is a little blood where the tooth has come from and there are a few teeth missing from his top jaw.

With his overshot jaw I will now monitor how his new teeth grow.
