In 3 weeks or so, we're going up to Scotland for a week,

Molly is great in the car, and has been on a 1.5hr journey with no problems
It's about a 4hour trip with no stops, I was wondering what the advice is for this length of time with a young-ish dog.
I was planning to stop at least twice for a water/toilet break,
is this enough?

thanks!

Hi

The longest i have had Jess in the car is 2 hours but she sleeps as soon as she gets in the car anyway. i stopped after an hour to let her do the toilet and have a little walk about.

If she is fine after an hour and a half she'll probably be ok for the journey as long as she gets a little walk about and gets to do the toilet.

Just give her something to chew on to keep her occupied and she'll be ok.

I have been lucky with Corrie - he is a fantastic traveller in cars. My parents live about 6 hours away from me so what I tend to do is stop half way to let Corrie do a wee, me to do a wee and fill up with fuel!

However, on long distances I let him have the back seat, then if he needs to stop any earlier he tends nudge my shoulder, so I then stop at the next suitable place.
