Well, tonight I finally bit the bullet and let Rueben off the lead on our evening walk!! :D

I know I should have done it SO much sooner but didn't realise that was the case!!

Tonight on our evening stroll around the fields, he looked so calm and relaxed that I had a moment of madness!! I let him off his lead and he happily trotted along beside me! 8O Even when he stopped to sniff something interesting I called him on and he came straight away every time 8O

Clearly his recall is a lot better than I thought!!

Good on Reuben and good on you! May you both enjoy many more off lead walks.

Thank you so much for all your replies!

This probably seems trivial to lots of you, but for me it was a BIG step! I was so worried that if I let him off I'd never see him again!

He obviously loves me lots more than I thought!
