Can puppies catch human colds?
Both me and the girlfriend have been pretty low with cold/flu/chest infections.
I've noticed that Molly has coughed once or twice ni the past 2 days (not a lot really) but yesterday afternoon and this morning she seems very lethargic, no loss in appetite, just quite slow moving, and wanting to sleep a lot...
If it continues tonight I'll take her to the vets tomorrow..but I was wondering if she had picked up our cold?

Hi,

This was bumped to the unanswered section so I thought I would try help. My experience is that dogs in general dont catch human colds. I have two and a house full of people that all get sick in winter and my dogs have never had a cold, even with all the kisses and cuddles. I think what they do is mimic their owners. if you're down, they act down etc etc BUT I say you can never be sure, monitor it and give your vet a call. I've found mine has always been happy to give advice over the phone.

thanks very much,
as I posted in another thread, her apparent lethargy disappeared yesterday, and she's back to her usual mischevious self!
(which we are very releived to see!)
