We went away for the weekend to the country with two self avowed dog haters. But they are both very nice people really with hearts of gold, just unimaginative when it comes to pets, worrying about dirty, boring dogs.

Obviously we were accompanied on our joint weekend away by our lovely Django and he behaved extremely well at all times. He is always quiet and (IMHO!) very beautiful and shiny and gentlemanly. But he adores the beach and runs around like a mad thing with a tennis ball in his mouth. He sleeps with us on our bed and he hangs around with us and we take him to walk and look at things and run in fields.

So. He targets....let's call her Maria, the female of this couple. Django sat next to her at all times. He put his head in her lap. He looked at her soulfully and intensely. She noticed this and felt very flattered. She began to stroke his head. She noticed us giving him little nibbles of food and began to do the same.

The weekend culminated with a pub lunch and DJ sat with Maria throughout, looking at her and for a long period putting his head on her lap. (Why I don't know! OH even got a bit jealous). Maria is by now after 48 hours completely won over. She gives him some of her roast dinner and says that she has now got over her fear of dogs.

Job done Django. We have another lab lover in the world. We all parted the best of friends.

:D he knew she needed some lab time... Maybe he's paving the way for a future lab in need of a home?! Send her pics of the gorgeous dogs in rescue! ;)
