Poor Fox ran through a hedge into a field before he heard me call him for the second time! Actually I used the whistle - I find that my panic doesn't seem so obvious. However I digress. Unfortunatly he developed a very sore eye. A very skillfull Vet removed an object under sedation which was luckily wedged in his eye sideways rather that going in too deep. It was a peice of stubble! That was an expensive walk that morning but Fox is doing well now.

Why does a normally obdient dog decide to engage selective hearing when there is danger ahead?
