My 6 month old labs pads are starting to crack, I'm sticking to the 5 minutes per month walking rule so he only gets a 30 min walk at the moment so I doubt it walking too far. I've tried a few different doggy creams and some purified petroleum jelly on them but he's licking it off as soon as I put it on him.
Can anyone suggest something I can use that he won't lick off please?

Freddie's did this at about 6 months too so it might just be getting used to walking? I used paw balm and vaseline on them but he licked it off fairly quickly too. These days they're barely cracked, and he walked up Snowdon and back last week on them.
