I have toys, food, blankets that I'd like to give to a shelter but can't find any near by. Does anyone know of a charity near SE London? The only ones I can find are in Surrey or Kent, which would be over an hour drive for me and because I have so much stuff I'd rather drop it off to save the postage.

Battersea? SW8 so I'm not sure how far away it is from you.

Or... not in your area but they have transport runs and collection dates to receive donations

They will be extremely grateful for any donations which they will take out to Romania to help the dogs that endure unspeakable suffering there. My friend at work is a volunteer for them.

You could try Rescue Remedies to see if they are close enough/have any volunteers who could meet up with or collect from you:

They do a wonderful job of helping unwanted dogs and do have to use kennels for quite a few dogs, so I'm sure would be really grateful if you could arrange something with them :)

Thanks everyone!

Battersea was my back up plan, but wanted to look at a smaller local place first. Foal Farm looks like a nice little local place and they explain on the site how to donate goods. The only issue with this is that I am now looking at the dogs they have to re-home... but none of them are suitable for me. It looks like Foal Farm have a few very small puppies which breaks my heart!
