I just thought I would do a post to test the water on whether anyone would be interested in attending some training weekends?

I am very much in the early stages of planning these at the moment. They do not have to be over a weekend and it probably suits me more if they are not, as I am often competing etc. at the weekend. I, also think one of the most important elements to get the most out of the two days is to ensure that the dogs have matching standards and abilities and not at completely opposite ends of the "training scale".

My thoughts at the moment are that I will take the beginner dogs myself, but anyone who is of a Novice standard and above I will use outside trainers.

I have trained both Weimaraners and Labradors to competition standard in obedience, working trials and gundog working tests. Taught basic pet obedience at Marlow Dog Traing Club and worked as Puppy Socialising Co-Ordinator at Hearing Dogs for the Deaf and took all the training classes for the dogs being socialised prior to their sound work training.

There is a write up and photos of the weekend I did this year for Neil and Sam on my website if you want to have a look.

Would anyone be interested? By pm if you wish :D .

Jill I would have been and jumped in feet first if Hershey was a puppy but at 10 I think he is far too set in his ways to do anything more strenuous then licking Jakes face

I would be very interested. Please let me know more when you have details.

A weekend would suit us better though, if possible.

Sounds great!

Maybe tricky for me to fit in before shoot season though, diary is quite full - when were you thinking of having it? If it's another Spring one like the one on your website then yes, I would be very keen indeed!

I will watch this space!

I would be very interested Jill, if you don't mind a funny looking long haired labrador along, no problem if you want to keep it all labs :)

Hi

Would it be suitable for complete beginners ie no experience whatsoever, who would be interested in learning the basics and have fun with their dogs but not necessarily to take it any further ?

Would it just be for labs only ?

Many thanks

No Jac and Chloe it wouldn't just be labs other breeds are welcome too :D .

Yes Chloe it would definitely be for complete beginners, although that 2 days would be for all complete beginner dogs.

Oh how exciting, I would be very interested too

I am also a complete beginner but both me and Bailey are eager to learn :D

It, of course, depends on me arranging childcare (although luckily both my parents have just retired  ) & accomodation, I love an adventure :D

Please keep me informed too :D

Well if I lived near to you I would jump at the chance, unfortunatley too far away :( . Doesn't seem to be much in the North West in that line unless I have missed it. Good luck

Well the idea is that I will source dog friendly bed & breakfast or camping sites locally, as some may be coming from Scotland   .
