Clovelly Cavalier is my dog's grandad on sire's side, Aughacasla Sam of Drakeshead also features heavily on the dam's side, along with Boothgates Headliner. Purdey has turned out quite tall and sleak, but the Boothgates line is very stocky and broad, I have a photo of Boothgates Headliner, will post it up:)

March Brown Moor's sire was Olaf Bright, a working bred dog, who's great great great grandsire was FT Ch Aughacasla Sam of Drakeshead who was the great great grandsire of my Amy, (photo below of Amy working.)

Another interesting dog on the bitch side 8 generations back is Morningtown Stormette, Stormette's sister was Morningtown Stormchoc of Rosetyne, the dam of my Beth, the lightest one of the two dogs in the other photo. More serious was a dog 10 generations back, Timspring Sirius. Sirius was one of the last dogs bred by Joan Macan. Sadly Joan went to a dog show one day, and on returning home it's believed she disturbed a thief, and was murdered! Nobody was ever charged with her murder.

There is so much history in pedigrees!

Sam had a reputation for passing on his working genes, but sadly that was not all he passed on. Sam was born in the days before DNA testing, and unknown to anybody he carried the gene for PRA which he passed on to all his many offspring. But we were lucky in that with the arrival of DNA testing we were able to eliminate it from the line. So now there is no reason why any dog should ever develop PRA again, it's just a matter of DNA testing and making sure at least one side is clear.
