If you are willing to travel a little I can highly recommend Animal Outings. It is a home boarding business based in Ripon, so much better in my opinion than a kennel, especially if your dogs aren't used to kennels.

I know the owner well (she has one of my puppies) and think that speaks volumes about how much I trust her etc.

This is the only place I've looked at in the Durham(ish) area that I'd be happy to take Lillie to: http://www.centre-barks.com/ both your dogs would be able to stay together and it really does look like the dogs would have a fantastic time. I've not used it yet though so can't recommend it personally. The prices are higher than a normal kennels, but I think you get what you pay for!
