A definate yes from me and Tess, we are really looking forward to it.

Any tips on anything we can do to prepare and make the session more worthwhile?

Great stuff!!

Well before my first one of these type of sessions I had Bodie heeling reasonably well, sitting to the whistle (at heel) and had a good idea of his retrieving capabilities (or lack of!!) The trainer, (who I am not allowed to mention incase it is deemed to be 'advertising') will asses your dog quickly and will have a fairly good idea after the first 30 mins what you need to be working on in that session.

So, I would say bring a whistle (acme 110.5 or 111.5) a game bag (or other bag for putting dummies in) and a slip lead. Also bring treats/a toy Tess likes for reward, but most importantly, come along ready to have fun and enjoy yourself - everyone has a giggle and takes away something to work on.

I am really sorry Diamond but in my stupid blondness I have completely forgotton your name, so if you could just remind me that would be wonderful, otherwise you will remain on the list as '? & Tess'

Thanks Nikki, it's Liz and Tess.
Tess will retrieve tennis balls all day long, walks to heel on a slip lead, but can be a easily distracted off lead and need reminding or where she should be so may need to work on that. We use a whistle for recal so maybe i should work on using it for the sit command aswell. I just need to get a bag, i love an excuse to buy stuff so i will enjoy having a look around for one. :P

Thanks Liz!

Sounds like you will be perfect for the morning group - I have asked the trainer to pop onto here and add anything she thinks may be useful for preparation.

Looking forward to seeing you again

Hi Liz, I'm glad that someone else completely new to it will be coming! I'm a tiny bit nervous as Indy will be much older than dogs that are probably waaay better trained than he is! ops:

He walks to heel perfectly on our walks, but I took him to a GSP fun day with Harvey and he pulled quite a lot, I think he was very excited to see so many other dogs. But his recall is very good, and he retrieves well. I haven't used a whistle with him apart from very recently so I will have to get some practice in before November!

Tess is now 2 and i have been meaning to take the plunge since she was 6 months but never really found the opportunity to try it, this seems perfect.

I'm sure Indy and Tess will do us proud and if nothing else we will have a really fun day out with our dogs.
