Post Dog car harness

Hi guys,
When I go by car with my pet the first time, I had some problems because didn't use a dog car harness. Thank God, my Jully had no troubles with health after her first trip in the car and barked happily. However, I read many dog car harness reviews the next day and bought it
What about you? Did you have some problems with pets in the car? Which dog car harnesses do you use?
Best regards,
Lawrence

I hate harnesses with a passion! But yes, dogs do need to be secured in a car, both for the dog safety and yours. A member of my dog club was turning across the road into the hall car park one night and was hit by a car coming the other way. The dog was thrown through the rear window and was laid in the road dead with a broken neck. Even at 30mph in the event of a collision the dog becomes a projectile and hitting either the driver or passenger on the head, a 30kg Labrador would ne likely to break the person's neck. It's that serious.

Personally I use a Barjo car crate in my car. Harnesses secured to the seat belt are fine, just as long as they have been tested for that use. Most have not, and are not strong enough to provide the required safety.

The harness I have just bought, crash tested, is a Bergan. Expensive, I’d prefer a crate but don’t want to invest in one yet as I might be changing my car. Like John, I really hate harnesses and it took some time to research but I was recommended this by a friend who had been involved in a serious accident.

They are also sold to fit the weight of your dog, not just the size,

Are you in the UK? If so have a look at the Ezydog drive and ruffwear load up. Both good quality crash tested harness with good results.

I used an Ezydog drive for a couple of weeks when waiting for my transk9. I then sold it on eBay.
