For those of you are looking for a humorous Summer read, I recommend you have a look at 'Shakespeare My Butt' by John Donoghue, or as you may be more familiar, our very own Marsupial from the forum!
John may be too modest to blow his own trumpet, but it IS an extremely funny read involving a gorgeous black lab and the meanderings of his highly amusing (and possibly a little eccentric) owner and has had me giggling my head off at the various digressions which populate the pages.
It is available on Amazon and through John's website www.marsupialelvis.com and perfect for those labrador lovers in need of a llighthearted belly laugh!!
As promised, here's a review of the book I just read:
Hermione dies at the end.
Oh wait, wrong book!
Shakespeare My Butt! is a wonderful collection of anecdotes and much digressing although the common themes of a black labrador, working at sea and trying to find places in the North East with ridiculous names are very apparent
Read this book if you're not embarrassed about laughing out loud (John, that's LOL  ) and either you'd like to visit the places mentioned or in my case, you'd like to revisit the places mentioned!
Don't read this book if you're offended by swearing, you don't have a sense of humour and you find the sentence "He was so irritating that you started to wish the wolf would catch the little f****r and eat him alive but, alas, it never happened" upsetting and disturbing...
I await the next book with baited breath and yes, I would like to see the pictures!
I can't say anything more than what's been said, so I'll say nowt. 8O
An idea?
All those of you off to far flung flesh spots, when you get there, take a photo of you holding the book and post it on here.
That way we can prove it was an international best seller. 8)
The wait for the second book is getting a bit much. Moses didn't take this long.
I have just ordered this and preordered the second one too direct from the site...I am looking forward to reading it
