This book was published in Sept last year. I've just got round to buying a copy and it seems very good.

It is aimed at working dogs as the title suggests, but it is a lot more than just another training book.

It covers a bit about breed history, thoughts on buying a dog, housing it, nutrition, exercise, and then a comprehensive training guide.

Amazon are selling it for £13 and I think it is well worth the money, just wish I'd had a copy before I got my pair of reprobates

I have finished the book just a couple of days ago.

The book is quite informative when it comes to managing your dog. It talks about kennels and gives some pointers about choosing one. It has a fair amount of information on feeding and I really loved the "How I feed at Fenway" sub-chapter, even if you can tell that Jeremy Hunt has a partnership with Skinners. However, it's a bit lacking in the training department. He talks at length about "establishing a connection" with your dog, but there isn't a lot of practical information on how to achieve that, probably because that's something that can't be easily explained.

All in all, I'd say it's a very good book for a new Labrador owner and it's well worth the price. I thought I knew a lot about Labs in general because I also have a Golden Retriever, but this would be one of the books I'd wish I had sooner.
