She may be chunky but roly poly is how a lab should be at this age. Sheís showing an astonishing ability and desire to retrieve though. I think itís from her granddaddyís genes. My problem is she may have natural ability but I donít have the knowledge or experience to take it anywhere.

At class with Freddie today, we usually do retrieves but there were lots of new barking dogs and Freddie decided he wanted to show off. The trainer decided he wasnít going to do any retrieves as she didnít want him to get into the habit of running around with the dummy.

Good thinking. Train for success, not failure. He's a young lad, easily distracted at that age.

Youíre not kidding! Today he decided to barge into my hubbies veg garden, the only party of the garden thatís not fenced on the outer boundary...itís fenced off from the main garden though. Freddie decided itíd be a good idea to visit the neighbours, with hubby hot on his tail (I spent Sunday morning in A&E and am not even supposed to be on my feet never mind chasing an overgrown puppy). He eventually caught up with him and the neighbour came to say hello....and ask what breed he was (Freddie not hubby). Not many people seem to be familiar with a well bred Labrador and they seemed surprised.

Is that referring to hubby of Freddy?
