Too Many Carbs or starch

I don't know if anyone can help - But I have had my little Twiglet on Rice and chicken or tuna (in spring water) for the last 4 days due to a bout of cystitis and runny tummy - she seemed fine for the first couple of days - then on Sunday after a hectic afternoon at my nephews birthday party we came home and about 3 hours later she puked the lot up (lunch and dinner by the amount of it!)

She was not a happy little soul and today she had a little rice and chicken for breakfast and threw that up - so I threw it away and just made some chicken broth with a few chicken pieces in which she drank OK... was fairly lethargic for most of the day and when I put down a little wet rice and chicken this evening completly turned her nose up at it - by now I was getting a bit frantic as she hadn't really eaten alot for 9 hours - so I put a little steamed chicken with a few of her James Welbeloved Kibbles and she wolfed it down - I was tempted to give her a bit more but am reining myself in for tonight - but she certainly seems to have perked up....

So I guess the question is - can they have too much Rice? I know it is starchy and just wondered if she had had too much?

I am such a novice at this and am terrified of doing something wrong OH is away for the week in the US so I am feeling a bit low - so much so I had a sob and bless her she came straight over asked me to sit on the floor with her and slobbered all over me.

She is looking so much better now and I don't want to get it all wrong by giving her rice again tommorrow if it could be that which is causing the problem ...any thoughts always appreciated.
Manic Mum!

PS I have never left the rice over night and always a fresh batch each day and chicken is just steamed in the oven with no salt, additives etc.

Hi Karen
Thanks - I did just chicken for breakfast and she scoffed it down - so for lunch I gave her a few kibbles and chicken and again the same - this evening Kibbles and Chicken again - and she has been fine so much so I gave her a little more a couple of hours later (as I have been keeping the portions V small in case of too much on the tummy) and again she has been fine - So I think the morale for my story was it was too much for too long - Just hope I don't have to go thru it again too soon!
Thanx
D
