Hello folks and welcome to the next instalment of 'Henry - SuperPup'
He's coming on well. Growing nicely, already about as tall as Hollie, with a bit to go yet. He's still on 3 meals a day (130gms) only he is now on half puppy food and half adult food. He will be on all adult food when his bag of puppy food is done.
He is very active, still long and slim, (sometimes I think I have an overgrown whippet). He loves to run in the fields now the corn has been combined and chase the crows, although he wasn't too sure about the large bails of straw that suddenly appeared.
His adult teeth are growing OK and in perfect condition, I check them regularly because of his overshot jaw.
The only chewing he's done is to an old garden bench outside and only his chew toys inside. He is left alone for short periods (with Hollie) quite regularly and there has been no damage at all - yet.
Behaviour is generally very good, recall is good, lead walking is good but he still thinks everyone he meets is his long lost best buddy.
When the door bell rings he has to be there first and he knows the sound of the Post van coming down the lane.
Henry and Hollie get on really well, run together, eat together, sleep together but Hollie will not have rough playing, she tells him off. Where at first Hollie wasn't too keen on Henry they are now good friends.
Now for some pics from this morning, unfortunately mainly bum shots of Henry ....
Waiting for breakies...
In the field with Autie Holl...
Well camouflaged...
On the way home for dinner...
Henry has still a lot of puppy in him yet and still has some growing (up and out) to do.
He has a good strong deep bark, he makes me and Hollie jump.
His coat is going darker, I think he will be a dark yellow by 12 months but not red like his sire (not that it matters).
Touch wood but I've been lucky with Henry, (going off past experience), he has not been the trouble I expected from a Lab pup.
PS: To John - he is not adverse to picking up dead birds or live ones or any animal. He definitely has good gundog behaviour/breeding in him.
