Mine bark from the car as well, but I know when people actually come up to the car, they are fine. It's just an automatic response, the car is theirs, it smells of them, it takes them to fun places, so of course they're going to tell people to keep away from their 'car' (not that they really understand the internal combustion engine). I wouldn't worry hugely about it, sometimes mine are quiet when I ask, other times they decide that the 'intruder' is far too scary and needs telling.
