Default My lab barks when she sees other dogs from the car

Hi,

My labradror is great with people and other dogs - she actually tends to ignore them on walks and prefers to continue sniffing and exploring. One thing that I can't seem to stop her doing is barking when ever she sees another dog when she is in the car. I would really like to stop her doing this but not sure how?

Thanks

Gordon

Mine bark from the car as well, but I know when people actually come up to the car, they are fine. It's just an automatic response, the car is theirs, it smells of them, it takes them to fun places, so of course they're going to tell people to keep away from their 'car' (not that they really understand the internal combustion engine). I wouldn't worry hugely about it, sometimes mine are quiet when I ask, other times they decide that the 'intruder' is far too scary and needs telling.

I feel your pain! I have one that goes ballistic if someone on a motorbike pulls up behind the car. It's really embarrassing when you're waiting for the traffic lights to change.
