Default Sumo ~ Cadbarin mister blue skies

Hello everyone.
We've only just recently lost our best friend, and are still coming to terms with it.

I don't know if I'm allowed to post links, but I've found making an online gallery of our beloved little man very helpful. It's comforting to know that our happy memories are just a click away, and that he's still floating around on the internet..

http://sumoboat.blogspot.co.uk/p/sumo-gallery.html

If you like black labs, please feel free to have a look, a laugh, and leave a comment if you wish. He touched many people in his all too short lifetime, and was loved by a great many of them. His greatest gift to me, beyond his unconditional love and unfailing support, was teaching me to live in the now. Not to worry about the past and the future. But, to make the most of every single moment. He did. I will try to.

WOW! I just looked through them all and its such a superb tribute to him Every one made me smile and actually think about the adventures I have with mine too and how they change and we forget those little moments until we see the photos and laugh all over again. Sumo had a wonderful life and he will be forever in your heart Xx

That got me right in the gut and I'm currently sitting here with tears rolling down my cheeks --- thankfully I'm working from home as it's not a good look for a 14 stone skinhead!!!

So God knows how you are feeling.

These always get me. I cant help it. I simply dread the day....
Jude is six and a half (going on 3 months!!) and one of the loves of my life along with family. I cherish every day spent with her and regret every hour life gets in the way; a day spent with a black lab just being there is a day well spent!

Got me a little but more than usual did your one as lots of the places you'd pictured we frequent. My parents have a place at Bablock Hythe so we've spent lots of time around there, Eynsham, Oxford and had a lovely holiday down Paignton way as well.

So long Sumo you big loveable lad.... run free

Then don't. Jude is not thinking about the day of her death. She's too busy living in the present moment. You'll find the stength when that day does come, because you love her as much as she loves you. But that isn't today. Thanks very much for your comment. All of the comments have been very kind. but yours has particularly moved us.

Now look here... it's supposed to me giving you support not the other way round!!

You are of course right and I commend you.
As for me being strong... cant see it. I hope it's years and years and years away but that dog has changed me in ways I could never have thought possible.
Its what they do to some of us isnt it?

I mean look at you -- a boat for the lad!!!

You are / were truly blessed and I really hope you can bring another lab into your lives as they will be so, so lucky

Good luck

Indeed they do. I was agoraphobic and depressed before our little man came along and taught me how to properly engage with the world again. The "it's just a dog" people will never get to feel that love and depth of connection in their lives.

We've already discussed this between ourselves, and realised that we have enough space, love, time and energy for two. They won't be replacements, because there will never be another Sumo. But labs make life seem so rich, and it's a joy to be able to look at the world through their eyes.
