How do you check your dogs ears after they’ve been in the long grass?

Literally you can only look. In most cases the first you will know is when your dog is in distress.

But ears are not the only source of problems. Grass seeds can get into the coat and prick into the skin, but running your hand over the coat usually finds these. The most likely though is the paws and a grass seed can so easily penetrate the skin between the toes. These are the most dangerous. You can imagine how the whiskers can drive the point in and like the barb on a fishing hook, not allow it to come out.
