Default Hot Spot?

Hi everyone. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.
My 3 year old girl Ivy has very quickly developed this sore on her head. What started as what I thought was a small cut has developed into hair loss and a what looks like grazed skin. This has probably developed in a day. I have also just noticed under her left ear what now looks like matted hair with a black scab underneath.
Is this what is commonly known as a hot spot?
I'm currently away with her on what is supposed to be a doggy holiday and not due to arrive back at our home untim Friday to take her to the vets.
Is there anything I can do in the meantime to treat this or reduce any discomfort?
Should I shave the infected area to let it breath? Is sudocrem helpful? Has anyone used black tea as a treatment?
Just trying to find options I can use until I get her to the vets.

Thanks again

Personally I wouldn’t wait till Friday. That could get infected. Find a local pdsa or vets 4 pets where you’re on holiday. Or get your own vets number and give them a ring for advice

This is what I do....trim as much if the hair away from the area, clean with saline or hibiscrub (or chlorhexadine based product, available in most chemists), allow to dry. If you are worried, then use trusty google to find a vet locally to your current location and walk in and ask their advice. I’m sure any vet would understand that you’re on holiday and help you with treatment.
