Yes, unfortunately I'm old enough to remember it, only just just though as I was fairly young back in the 80's!

Not quite old enough to remember the political fall out but agree with Luna-Tuck: suddenly wasn't able to lick the bowl and my mum made great cookies - raw cookie dough being taken away was such a hardship!!

My pleasure was scooping a finger full of Christmas pud mix out of the bowl after the beer had been added.

Ah Yes!!! I remember this well!!
Didn't stop my egg consumption, I had always only liked well cooked eggs. As a child a soft boiled egg with "toast soldiers" was "gross"!!!
A while later, the news broke that Edwina and John Major had been a bit "friendly" 😏 Was he dipping his "toast soldier" into her soft boiled egg??? 😱 😂

Yes, something like that.

I've got to admit I prefer my eggs hard boiled or well fried. A 9 minute egg, mashed up and mixed with mayonnaise in a sandwich is something I often do for lunch.

My OH loves egg sandwiches 😀 but the eggs have to have Heinz salad cream with a "tad" of salt and white pepper!!! 😂
My wrists an' hands ain't too good at mashin' eggs, so I bought a potato ricer for his birthday for ME!!! 😎
