Default the puppy food switch...

so our little pup of 12 weeks was weaned onto eukanuba large breed puppy and following universal praise i went for some millies wolfheart obedience which arrived today.

she currently gets the kibble with some natures menu wet food mixed in (i wont be buying natures menu again) and we are wondering about how to make the transition onto millies...

should we finish the euk entirely or should we mix it with the millies and introduce it gradually....

does anyone have any experience they would care to share?

Millies say their food is so good that it shouldn't need a gradual transition but I would still phase it in over a few days. I just mix a scoop of new food into the storage container and add an extra scoop every few days so it gradually becomes more new than old.

I agree with Pam above, I would still introduce it gradually over about a week.

I changed my pup over to MW when she was young and did it over a week. It can be changed quite quickly but think it's kinder on a small tummy if done gradually

Eukanuba is what I feed my dogs too! Definitely phase in the new food, dont do it all at once. Do a day of a 75:25 mix, then do a night of 50:50 , Then a night of 25:75 , and finally just the grown - up food. Good luck!

here is the little poo muncher...

we are gradually introducing the MW obedience but annoyingly we still have a 12kg bag of euk to get through...

i found the customer service at MW really good and so far she seems to be doing well on teh new stuff... she still likes to nibble her own muck though which is very annoying
