Vets will always recommend this food as the majority of them sell it. I never ever ask my vet for nutritional advice.

Are you in the uk? If so is a great site to compare different foods. I always look at highest rated first then chose which you think would suit your girl best.

My oldest girl is only 26kg but is on a low fat food as it keeps her weight more or less the same.

Vets students get VERY little training in dietary matters, and what they do get is almost invariably given by Royal Canin or Hills. So really, vets are not usually a good source on info on that subject.
