Default First game retrieve

Well Branta is definitely living up to the family tradition. I was out walking with her and Indie yesterday, Branta had her nose down and was sniffing away, I walked on ahead and turned to see her proudly running towards me with a very badly decomposed rabbit carcass. She came straight to me, retrieved to hand beautifully and accepted a nice bit of venison sausage as a swap.

Tau's first retrieve was an even more badly decomposed piece of rabbit, and Zasa's was a dead rat.

They pick great stuff. Poppy’s was a dead sparrow, thankfully freshly deceased, she picked it up in a village hall!

I remember Amy's first retrieve, a live frog! (I have a pond in the garden.) The instinct to retrieve is so strong in these dogs!
