I'm sorry to ask this disgusting question.
Lola hasn't been exactly the quickest in the house training front but over the last couple of days we really seem to have made some progress, hardly a wee accident and I thought no poo. Poo was surprisingly more of a problem then wee prior to that. Anyway this morning I came down and thought there had been no poo just a wee but there was a a dirty mark on the kitchen florr where she had previously always returned to for pooing. Then today I know she's pooed outside 3 times and lots of praise etc but just came in the kitchen and there was a round pooey mark by the sink again.
I did try and smell it but my son had just filled the biggest nappy so I really couldn't tell what I was smelling as my nose had given up the will to live
I know I'm creating a lovely picture of my house and its various smells but hopefully Jan will back me up that it doesn't smell awful all the time
Is it possible that she's eating it? do they even do that or is it just something else? If she is eating it have I done something wrong to make her do that?

I'm sure it's not anything you've done or are doing. Have you tried giving her pineapple? It's supposed to make their poo smell funny and less likely to eat it?

Jess went through a phase of eating her own poo when she was left on her own in the kitchen and at night and this seemed to coincide with when she was getting the idea of house training and that she wasn't meant to wee/poo inside, and looking back, we think she was probably trying to hide it. We rectified this by leaving her in her crate when left. She wouldn't poo then as it was her bed. This was the best thing we did.
BUT, she still loves eating other animal poo and then trying to give me a kiss afterwards!!! Typical!

Yup - favourite trick Don't you just love'em
I agree about the trying to hide it though, nothing you've done wrong, just a phase. Make sure you clean up anything indoors without comment and don't be too quick to pick up outdoors, and praise to the heavens when she "goes" outside.
And just think, dogs are much quicker to housetrain than babies
