I gave up using a hoover a long while back!
But I do own a DC05 Absolute and a DC20 Animal Stowaway.

I haven't got a DC27 (I think my present one is a DC14) but I've had several Dysons and I have to say, they do seem to cope better with dog hairs than any other vacuum cleaners I've tried. I wouldn't necessarily bother with the "Animal" bit, as I think this just gives you an extra hose head or something but I would always go for a Dyson now. You get what you pay for.

I wasn't keen on a Dyson but I got one because folk were raving about them on here.
I've got a refurbished DC07. £40 off ebay.
It's the best performing vac I've had, by far the easiest to empty and clean, it copes with 3 farm Labradors very well.

I bought a Vax "Animal" and it lasted around 3 months but I think that was partly because my dad killed it using it for things he shouldn't
I then went and bought a Dyson, a little one with a collapsible handle and it's coping well despite being tiny. I'd agree you get what you pay for and Dysons are worth the money. Go for a basic one though, I think the "Animal" is a little bit of a moneyspinner

We have the Dyson Animal and it does cope very well with the hairs, it's just half filled itself this morning just doing downstairs with the way ours our moulting at the moment!
We are on our 2nd or 3rd now as we find that they do tend to give up after a couple of years.
Ours is heavily used though, at least twice per day.

I have a dyson DC14 allegy. Best hoover I've ever had, copes brilliantly with dog hair on hard floors & carpet, plus it is so easy to empty.
It is certainly earning its keep at the mo with the 2 yellow girls. Oh my word they are moulting so much, having to hoover twice a day

Twice per day my hoover's lucky to be used twice a week. I do brush all the laminate and tiles but the hoover's only used in the corners if I am expecting visitors

I'm on my third Dyson now but I would never go back
Having said that - just don't go for the DC23 Animal - I HATE IT
Having a quick browse, the price looks good for the DC27
