    |
|
Hi
I am looking to you all to come to my rescue - We (OH and I) are replacing the flooring in our kitchen.
Previously we have had lino easily cleanable but which the dogs chew, dig at and generally destroy over the course of time - OH wants tiles - I'm am not so sure - will the dogs slip on them - he thinks not (for this reason I wouldnt consider having any laminate type flooring) Or will they dig out the grout??
HELP I need a labrador proof flooring to go on a concrete floor base - any ideas pro's / cons?? Must be cleanable, washable, not slippey.... Plus not cost a fortune......
Jo

We've got tiles in our kitchen and they are a lot less slippery than the laminate in the lounge. The tiles we have are a sort of slate effect and so are slightly textured. They are a little slippery if they get wet but not bad at all. The grout has remained completely intact (our tiles have been down for about 5yrs) and I would definately recommend tiles. Easy to clean, hard wearing etc etc.
Hope to help
Vicki

Tiles every time! Mind you my whole house is tiled (it's a continental thing ). Perfect for 16 muddy paws!

Tiles.
We were very lucky we ripped up the lino from the kitchen and found a lovely tiled flooring under it. Why anyone wanted to cover it up is beyone me
I agree with Vicky, really east to clean and upkeep.

Go with quarry tiles - not slippery, even when they're wet. I'm lucky cos my house is the right age that they look like they're the original floor too. Will see if I can find a picture...

Tiles here too, absolutely brilliant and the dogs don't really find them slippery either not like the laminate. I got mine from Homebase on one of their money off days and they were really well priced.

Definitely tiles, they are not too slippy. I think most floor tiles are slightly textured so that we humans don't fall over. They've been great for us and the grout is still intact!

We have laminate flooring that clicks in place. It hasn't worn and is not too slippy. Easy to keep clean too.
I have added a photo so you can see the type of flooring I mean. Take no notice of the slippers. lol.
