My daughters msn has picked up the silly virus that goes around asking you to look at the link they send. Now unfortunately she didnt know what it was at the time so pressed on it......so now it sends the link to everyone on her address book sometimes every 5 mins!............Weve formatted her computer...............changed her msn address but it is still doing it.

Anyone got any idea how to solve this please before I lost my mind and all her friends fall out with her.

Thanks

That one is extremely nasty - you will get allsorts of msgs asking you to download stuff to get rid of it - DON'T! Once you do that everything is ruined. I'm afraid we had to enlist the help of an expert with ours and it took him several attempts to get rid of it and rescue our files - and our business files were on that PC at the time! Good Luck - hope you get it sorted!

Ok, message from my BF, hope it helps. Wink

try and do the following:

go to: http://www.kaspersky.co.uk/virusscanner

click on Kaspersky Online Scanner, this website will perform a scan on your computer. It should find the virus and get rid of it. If after doing this scanner the virus is still there delete your antivirus and download and install this antivirus:

http://anti-virus-solution.com/uk/eset/join2.asp?s=Eset

This is the best antivirus you can get. It is the one I use and it will definately get rid of your virus. Install it and make sure it is updated. Then do an "in-depth" scan. It will detect the virus and delete it. If for any reasons it does not find it and you carry on with the problem let me know and I will do more research on it Smile. By the way, this antivirus is only a 30 day trial, so it is up to you if after deleting the virus you uninstall the antivirus and re-install the old one. DONT install two antivirus at the same time.
