I sit and read here about all the sad stories of abuse and neglect of dogs. This morning I was reading the BBC news site and found this. Its so nice to find a positive story in the media of how one dogs life has been changed since he was rescued Hope you dont mind!!!
Rescued dog enlists with police
Blade is settling into his new life with his handler's family
Just a few months ago, Blade was a stray German Shepherd roaming the streets of Birkenhead.
But now the 14-month-old canine is starting duty as a police dog after being rescued by council officers.
Blade is now living with his handler, Merseyside Police Pc Mike Rimington and his family.
He said: "Blade is a fantastic dog. He has really taken to police work, and I am so glad that he was spotted and brought to us."
On Tuesday, Blade, along with a number of other four-legged recruits, was due to start work at the force's dog training school.
"When you are working with dogs you build up a real relationship with them, and you get to know each other really well," Pc Rimington added.
"I trust Blade implicitly. He comes home with me when we are off duty, so I have to be able to trust him with my family too.
"We have a lot of nieces and nephews who often visit, Blade is great with children and they love playing with him."

What a nice ending, as you said it is all too often that these stories have terrible endings, at least this is one that results in Blade going to a loving and happy home, and one that enables him to work which I am sure that he will just love doing.
Well done Blade....
