I want to change Osca over to dry. He was on Tinned with mixer. I stopped the mixer and replaced it gradually over a week with Purina Beta Large Breed Puppy. He had no problem eating it even on the last day (day before yesterday) when there was about 3 tablespoons of tinned and the rest dry food.

Yesterday though, his first day on just Dry he snubbed both his meals. Again today he has done the same even though after his initial refusal to eat I added some tinned food with breakfast and gravy with tonights tea, and he has eaten a couple of mouthfuls but left the rest.

My questions are: Should I persevere and if he keeps turning his nose up at the dry just hope that he will eat it if he is really hungry, and has anyone else had the same problem.

Confused Errmm... Have you ever tried the dry food just on it's own? It's worth a try just to see how he gets on. Also try adding a bit of warm water to it to soak in then a bit of cold so it's nice and moist and you know he's getting water. How old is he by the way?

I have tried it on its own today, the first day of dry only.

He's 4.5 months

Teething could be putting him off eating soley dry food.
I mix tinned wet food in with my dogs dry Autarky food and what a difference.
He enjoys it much much more! Plus, he doesn't wolf it down so fast either. Takes his time with it more, which is a bonus! Considering he used to eat so fast he would almost choke himself!

Osca is teething at the moment, and I thought this might be the problem. Maybe I should just wait until his adult teeth have grown through before swapping his food.
