Hi,
doogie is 8 months now and weighs 26kg. How much burns should he be having? I have read somewhere that that it should be 15g per kilo, is that correct? I am worried that i have been under feeding him and am now feeling a bit guilty,

many thanks

gary

Hi Gary,
every dog is different and the amount suggested by the food companies is only an indication. I would monitor Doogie by weighing him once a week, as long as he is putting on weight, an average of 1 kg per week, it should be good. Also a good test is that you should feel his ribs but not see them. It is pretty much a getting to know your dog.

I am not an expert but lots of good advise on this site has really helped me. I am sure more experienced people will be along soon too to help you further.

My Kyra is on Burns too. Great food!

Hi

I feed Abbey 230g a day of the adult burns as she weighs 23 kg (also 8 months old)

I tend to feed the 10 g per kg of weight instead of the 15 g .
She tends to get dandruff when i feed her anymore if its related !!! and loose poo's

She also gets treats ontop so i dont feel too bad !!
