Hi All,
Well
when we got maxi I bought him Iams puppy junior food, hes had allot of tummy troubles and is now on chicken and rice,I need to re-introduce dry food slowly back into his diet so as I still have 10kg of Iams left over I thought I would use this up and then put him on Arden Grange food.
so I looked up Iams on here to see if anyone else had had any problems with it.to my horror I found the post about the animal testing and am now so mad with myself for buying it as in my ignorance I didn't know anything about it and thought it was a good food.
I would like to know if should not bother butting him back on this to use up the bag,and if so what should I do with the stuff????
I will no longer be support this cruel company but surely there are to many starving dogs out there to warrant throwing it all away?

Might be worth asking if your local rescue / animal shelter may have a use for it? I know when I worked in the pharmaceutical industry, the shelters used to take a lot of our short dated / damaged milk based feeds for their animals

If you don't want to feed it to your lab, perhaps your local animal shelter might want them? It's food that's already paid for so might as well find some use for it!
Edit: Sue beat me to it!

Hi there!
Like you I was totally ignorant to the fact that many food companies were using animals to test food!!
I feed Cadbury on Burns which I believe is one of the ok brands (please let me know if I am wrong some one!!)
I would think it is best not to use the rest of it up on your pup - not so much because of the testing thing but more the fact that if you are going to then change brands any way it could just be unsettling for the dogs tummy.
You are right though about wasting it - what about local dog shelter? maybe they could use it up.
Linny and Cadbury x

You could always drop it into an animal shelter or the like - they would be grateful for the donation. I know what you mean about the animal testing thing - it makes me so cross. That's why I feed Pheebs Burns - which is NOT tested on animals, and as it is based on real food (chicken, rice etc) and has no preservatives or artificial colours or flavouring. Plus, she LOVES it
